Install Profit Shield from the Shopify App Store. Then: (1) Go to Margin Alert and click "Sync Products from Shopify", (2) Click "Import COGS" to enter your costs, (3) Your margins are calculated and color-coded automatically. The whole process takes under 3 minutes.

Three types: (1) COGS — Cost of Goods Sold, what you pay your supplier, (2) Shipping costs — what shipping costs YOU, not the customer, (3) Shopify payment fees — automatically estimated at 2.9% of the selling price. You enter COGS and shipping; fees are calculated automatically.

Green (above 30%): Healthy margin, no action needed. Yellow (10-30%): Needs monitoring, review monthly. Red (0-10%): Dangerously low, take action now. Black (below 0%): You are losing money on every sale of this product.

Yes. Go to Margin Alert, click "Import COGS", then select the CSV Upload tab. Download the template, fill in your product IDs and costs in a spreadsheet, then upload. The app will match and update all costs at once.

The Free plan includes 1 module (Margin Alert) and monitoring for up to 10 products. Upgrade to Growth ($19/mo) for 2 modules and 200 products, or Pro ($39/mo) for all 4 modules and unlimited products.

Yes. Upgrade or downgrade at any time from Settings inside the app. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades may deactivate extra modules if you exceed the new plan's limit. Billing is handled through Shopify.

Product catalog (titles, prices), order data (for shipping and return analysis), and inventory levels. We never access customer personal information, payment details, or store credentials. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Uninstalling Profit Shield from your Shopify store automatically triggers deletion of all your data (product costs, alerts, return reasons, reorder rules) within 30 days. You can also contact us to request immediate deletion.
